TermDefinition
Autocracy A government where political authority rests with a single leader.
Democracy A government where political authority rests with a nations citizens.
Executive Head of government/head of the state.
President Title often given to the head of government (state) in a presidential democracy.
Prime minister Title often given to the head of government in a parliamentary democracy.
Chancellor Title often given to the head of government in a parliamentary democracy.
Bi-cameral Having a legislature divide into an upper and lower house .
Legislature Lawmaking body
Presidential democracy Citizens elect both members of the legislative branch and executive branch.
Parliamentary democracy Citizens elect members to legislative branch-then members of legislative branch select the head of the state in the executive branch.
Political party Organization which represents specific political ideas in a given country.
Russia President
United Kingdom Prime minister
Germany Chancellor
