| Armistice | An agreement to stop fighting |
| Treaty | An agreement between the countries after the fighting has stopped, that decides who gets what |
| Isolationism | The belief that our country should not get involved in other country's business |
| Example of an Armistice or Treaty | In World War I an armistice was signed in 1918 to stop fighting, but the Treaty of Versailles did not get finalized until 1919. |
| Example of Isolationism | President Wilson thought that World War I was none of our business , until our ships started to get sunk, because it was being fought on the other side of the world. |
| Propaganda | Posters and advertisements trying get people to feel a certain way. |
| Example of Propaganda | World War I Uncle Sam was a famous piece of propaganda trying to get people to join the war effort. |
