| Term | Definition |

| Blue Ridge | This region makes up the highest mountain ranges in Georgia. This area has forest and rivers. |
| Ridge and Valley | This region has low areas of farm lands with rich soil and areas of high land with ridges. |
| Appalachian Plateau | Georgia's smallest region. Fairly flat, high land with some mountains. Temperatures are cooler than in the southern part of the state. |
| Piedmont | It contains the highest population of people and the capital is here. It has red soil. |
| Coastal Plain | This region is the largest. This area is flat, and it is good for farming. It's famous for its peanuts, peaches, and pecans. |
