Revenue Incoming money from taxes or other sources
Petition A formal request
Patriot An American colonist who favored American independence
Effigy A mocking figure representing an unpopular individual
Preamble The introduction to a formal document that often tells why the document was written
Prepeal To cancel an act or law
Rebellion Open defiance of authority
Boycott To refuse to by items in order to show disapproval or force acceptance of ones terms
Propaganda Ideas or information initially spread to harm or help a cause
Civil Disobedience The use of non-violent protests to challenge a government or its laws
Committees of Correspondence An organization that spreads political ideas and information
A court document allowing custom officers to enter any location to search for smuggled goods
