TermDefinition
Geography the study of people and places on Earth.
Conquistadors Spanish soldiers who took new lands by force in the 1500s.
Plantation a large farm, especially in the South.
Northwest Passage a legendary waterway through the Americas that early explorers sought.
Tenant Farmers settlers who pay rent or provide work to a landowner in exchange for the right to use the landowner's land.
Exploration to travel to a little known area to investigate and learn new information about the area.
Colonization to settle a new colony in a new land.
Slavery owning other people and forcing them to work for no pay.
Environment the condition or surroundings that affect people.
Characteristic a distinguishing trait or quality.
