Geography Concepts

What is absolute location? Tells the location of a place using longitude and latitude coordinates.
What is a continent? The main expanses of land of the world.
What is relative location? A way of giving a location by using familiar places and objects.
What is a hemisphere? The four parts of the world that are crated by the equator and the Prime Meridian.
What is the equator? The imaginary line that divides the earth into the Northern and Southern hemispheres.
What is the prime meridian? The imaginary line that divides the earth into the Western and Eastern hemispheres.
What is latitude? Imaginary lines that go East to West across the Earth.
What is longitude? Imaginary lines that go South to North on the earth.
What is climate? The weather conditions in an area over a long period of time.
What is a natural resource? A type of resource that is always naturally made and never man made.
What is population distribution? Where people live.
What is trade? When people buy and sell goods and services.
What is modify? When you change physical environments for economic gain.
