| 16th Amendment | CHANGE TO THE CONSTITUTION that gave the Congress the power to tax people's income to raise money for the government |
| Progressive Party | created by Theodore Roosevelt and his supporters so he could run for President in 1912 |
| Bull Moose Party | nickname for the Progressive Party |
| Federal Reserve Act | created 12 regional banks and gave the government more control over banking |
| Federal Trade Commission | investigates corporations for unfair trade practices |
| Woodrow Wilson | ran for President as a Democrat in the election of 1912 |
| William Taft | ran for President as a Republican in the election of 1912 |
| Theodore Roosevelt | ran for President as a Progressive in the election of 1912 |
