East and Southeast Asia

TermDefinition
1. Mixed Economy An economy that allows for both public and private ownership of businesses.
2. City-State A political division made up of a city and surrounding area.
3. Dictatorship Government where the leader has unlimited power and severely limits the rights of citizens.
4. Communism Type of government where there is a command economy and rights of the people are limited.
5. Archipelago A chain of islands
6. Ring of Fire An area where large numbers of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur in the basin of the Pacific Ocean.
7. Globalization The growing connectedness of different regions of the world resulting in the spread of culture, ideas, disease, goods and technologies
