Freedmen's Bureau Federal Agency that protected and helped freedmen (Helped them find families) and displaced poor whites. Created schools for black children,and provided medical care
Black Codes Harsh laws that kept African Americans from being completely free (Slavery without Chains)

Civil Rights The rights of individuals to political, social, and economic equality
Radical Republicans A group of American Politicians who were Republicans that wanted to secure the rights of slaves and Freedmen
