Gestalt Grouping

TermDefinition
Proximity -perceives individual shapes as a group to form a picture.(ex. pixels)
Similarity -perceives similar shapes as a group
Dis-similarity -perceives a broken order
Continuation -guides a viewer's eye across a smooth line
Closure -incomplete object that's not fully enclosed yet mind fills in the gaps and sees a picture
Figure Ground -A shape/silhouette that's perceived as the figure while the surrounding is perceived as background
