Bering Strait A body of water between Asia and Alaska where a land bridge existed during the Ice Age that was used by nomads to cross over to the New World.
Iroquois Native Americans who lived in New York State and Canada who formed a 5 Nation Confederacy in 1570.
Aztecs A great Native American civilization occupying central and southern Mexico--known as great warriors.
Geography The study of the earth's features.
Northeast Woodland Native Americans who lived between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mississippi River who farmed corn and hunted in the forests.
Culture The total way of life of a particular group of people who share similar beliefs and customs.
Mayas A great Native American civilization occupying southern Mexico and Central America--known as great astronomers and mathematicians.
Terrace A raised piece of land with the top leveled off to promote farming used by the Incas to be able to farm on steep mountain sides.
