| Martin Luther | A German priest who started the Protestant Reformation in 1517. |
| Mercantilism | An economic theory that stated a nation's power was based on its wealth. |
| Mission | Religious communities built by the Spanish which contained a small town, surrounding farmland, and a church. |
| Pilgrimage | A religious journey to a holy place. |
| Plantation | A large estate which grows cash crops and is farmed by laborers who live there. |
| Protestant Reformation | Started by Martin Luther King when he listed his complaints against the Catholic Church which led to the dividing of the Christian religion into Catholic and Protestant. |
| Pueblo | A home or community of homes built by Native Americans. |
| Renaissance | A period of the rebirth of knowledge and interest in learning in Europe between the 1300's and 1600's. |
| Strait | A narrow strip of water connecting two larger bodies of water. |
| Technology | The application of scientific discoveries for practical use. |
| Tribute | Payment of one country which is forced to pay for protection. |
