Frayer Models

Era A large length of time characterized by an individual human activity, or culture.
Time Period A smaller length of time characterized by specific events.
Calendar A system of organizing and dividing time.
Sola Calendar A calendar system based on the earth's rotation around the sun.
Lunar Calendar A calendar system based on the moon's rotation around the earth.
B.C/B.C.E The abbreviation for the period of time before Christ was born, now referred to as “before common era.”
A.D/C.E. The abbreviation for the Latin phrase anno domini (meaning in the year of Christ) for the period of time after Christ was born, now referred to as “common era.”
Genocide The deliberate killing of a large group of people, especially those of a particular ethnic group.
Persecute To punish, hurt, or ill-treat someone because of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
Occupied Being used by someone
Prejudice A belief of someone or a ethnic group that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Discrimination The unjust treatment of people or things.
