1. What will we read about in this section? 1. In this section you will read about the Aztec society.
2. What was the relationship with Mayan, Incas and Aztecs? 2.Like the Incas and the Mayan, the Aztecs were very similar.
3. What main classes were the Aztecs divided in? 3.They were divided into 2 main classes, nobles and Commoners.
4. How did the Aztecs live? 4.Extended families lived in adjoined houses around a centeral courtyard.
5. How was slavery back then? 5.Slaves were a the lowest level of society, they worked for noble families.
6.How was education different back then? 6. Boys received intensive military training, Girls learned the arts of homemaking.
7.Where did kids work when they grew up? 7. Men tended the fields, while Women worked at home.
8.Where did commoners work? 8.Not all commoners were farmers, some worked as artisans.
9.What else did men do? 9.Men were trained as warriors.
10.How was the king created? 10.The king was created by a strong state led by a the Aztecs
11.Who else helped the king? 11.A group of five royal advisors helped the king run the government.
12.What other jobs were there? 12.They included the ruling councels, judges, clerks, tax collectors.
13.How was the relationship with the government and the ruler? 13.The Aztec government was based on a strong ruler.
14.What was tribute in the Aztec world? 14.In the Aztec rule tribute was essential.
15.How was religiouse belifes back then? 15.Tribute was also flowed to the Aztec priests and temples.
16.What was their relationship with religion? 16.They belived that the gods gave them life and controlled everything on Earth.
17.Who was the most important god? 17.The most important Aztec god was Huitzilopochtli.
18.How was their relationship with ritual sacrifices? 18.The Aztecs did not do ritual sacrifices like Mayas.
19.What was their relationship with human sacrifices? 19.Human sacrifices was also a form of political control.
