| Nazism | antisemitic , racists beliefs, Germans were the master race , individual not important, a form of fascism |
| Concentration camps | camps in World War II in which the Nazis forced people to work, exterminated people, and performed experiments on people |
| Holocaust | the act of mass destruction |
| Pearl Harbor | location of a naval base in Hawaii that was attacked on December 7, 1941 |
| Normandy | Invaded by the Allies on June 6, 1944; successful attack; Also called D-Day. |
| Atomic Bomb | a bomb derived by nuclear fission. Dropped on Japan by the Allies to end the war. |
| Adolf Hitler | Nazi dictator of Germany during WWII |
| Winston Churchill | Prime Minister of England during WWII |
| Franklin Roosevelt | President of the United States during WWII |
| Harry Truman | Became president when Roosevelt died in the last months of WWII |
| Benito Mussolini | Facist leader of Italy during WWII |
| Joseph Stalin | Secretary General of the Communist Party in the Soviet Union during WWII |
| Hirohito | Emperor of Japan during WWII |
| Charles DeGaulle | Leader of the French Resistance during WWII |
| Chiang Kai Shek | Leader of the Republic of China during WWII |
