Cyrus The Great Persian king that conquered but let people keep their customs and earned their respect and they stayed with him while he conquered other nations. He was smart and had a strategic way of fighting.
Cavalry A unit of soldiers who rode horses.
Darius I Took power over Persia but wasn't as nice as Cyrus. He made people follow the same customs as him and if they didn't they were killed.
Persian Wars Greek cities rebelled and Darius led an attack against Greece and lost.
Xerxes I Darius I son was Xerxes I and he led an attack again on Greece but were joined by the Persian navy this time.
Alliance After Persian wars ended many city states joined in an alliance
Peloponnesian war Sparta declared war on Athens
