| Raw material | A material or resource that is still in its natural state. |
| Fossil Fuel | a natural fuel such as coal or gas, formed in the past from the remains of living organisms. |
| Natural Resource | Anything from the environment that people use to meet their needs. |
| renewable Resource | Resources that can be replaced as they are used up or can grow back fairly quickly. |
| Nonrenewable Resource | Resources that cannot be replaced once they are used up. |
| Nuclear Energy | Source of energy that is created by the splitting of uranium atoms. |
| Geothermal Energy | Energy that comes from the earth's internal heat. It produces steam that can be used to heat homes. |
| Solar Energy | Energy produced by the sun. It is the greatest renewable energy source available. |
