Creole stable natural language developed from a mixture of different languages. (mixed European and black descent, especially in the Caribbean). (Basic set of terms)
Dialect particular form of a language that is peculiar to a specific region or social group
Indo European Languages a large widespread family of languages
Isogloss Boundary that seperates regions in which different language uses predominate
Language Family a group of languages related through descent from a common ancestor, called the proto-language of that family
Language Group group of languages related descent from common ancestor
Lingua Franca a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different. (Language of Trade)
Linguistic Diversity a way to talk about varied types of traits including language family , grammar , and vocabulary.
