| hydropower | power produced by capturing the energy of flowing water |
| gorge | a deep, narrow valley, usually with a stream or river |
| glacier | a huge sheet of ice that covers land |
| bog | an area of soft, wet, spongy ground |
| sap | a liquid that circulates through a plant carrying water and food |
| mineral | a material that was never alive an dfound in the earth |
| quarries | places where stone is dug, blasted out for use in buidling |
| bay | a part of a sea or lake that cuts into a coastline |
| inlet | is a narrow opening in a coastline |
| watermen | the people who fish in the bay are called watermen |
| crab pot | isn't really a pot at all it is a large wire cage with several sections |
