South America culture, government and economics

TermDefinition
Culture A group's way of life, including types of food, shelter, clothing language, behavior and ides.
Coup A sudden, illegal takeover of government by force.
Immigrate To move to a new country or region.
Impact An effect that produces change.
Infrastructure The basic systems of society such as roads, bridges, sewers and electricity.
Language families Groups of related languages.
Megacities Large cities with more than 10 million people.
Mestizos A person who has mixed European and Native American ancestry.
Predominant Main, most common, superior to others.
Roots Cultural origins
Slums Areas in a city that are crowded, with poor housing and bad living conditions.
Topography Physical features of land.
Tradition The handing down of information, beliefs, or customs from one generation to another.
