Latitude and Longitude

| Latitude lines go | East to West or side by side around the world. |

| Absolute location | Describes the EXACT location of a place using latitude and longitude coordinates. |
| Relative location | Describing what a place is like to help you get to that location. (Example: The Little Eagle Deli is across the street from Dilly's Donut Shop, and is next to Earlingtonn City Park.) |
| Equator | An imaginary line separating the earth into the Northern and Southern hemispheres. |
| Prime Meridian | An imaginary line of longitude separating the earth into the Eastern and Western hemispheres. |
| Tropic of Cancer | Is North of the equator (23*27'N) |
| Tropic of Capricorn | Is South of the equator (23*27'S) |
