Mercantilism An economic system where colonies exist to make the home country wealthy and powerful.
John Cabot An Italian Explorer.
Henry Hudson An English explorer who made four voyages searching for the Northwest Passage.
Northwest Passage A northern sea route from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
Mississippi Valley The largest drainage ditch in North America.
Huron A native group that held an alliance with the French.
Courer de Bois French term for “Runner of the Wood”, a French settler who lived among the natives.
Alliance An agreement between sides.
