Types of Growth

CSET terms

TermDefinition
Sensorimotor Period-Infancy Birth through 2 years Infant's physical response to immediate surroundings.
PreoperationalPeriod-Early Childhood /Toddler 2 year through 7 years Egocentric-focus on symbolic thought and imagination.
Concrete Operation Period: Middle Childhood 7 through 11 years Mastery of conservation-child begins to think logically.
Formal Operations Period: Adolescence 12 year through adult Thinking based on abstract principles.
