|---|---|
| Cell | The basic structure of all living things. {Humans have trillions they help us function} |
| Organism | An individual animal, plant, or single cell thing |
| Macromolecules and Organelles | Smaller pieces that make up cells |
| Cell wall | A thin membrane around the cytoplasm of a cell (Only in plant cells) It Gives it its structure and support |
| Prokaryotic Cells | Cells that have no Nuclei |
| Microorganism | Very small organism |
| Multinucleated | Many Nuclei |
| Cell Membrane | A thin layer of protein and fat that surrounds the cell. It lets some things in a blocks others out |
| Chloroplast | Converts energy to food for the cell in the form of a sugar called glucose. |
| Vaccuole | Holds the food, waste, and water |
| Golgi Body | A flattened layered sack-like organelle located by the nucleus, it packages protein and carbs into membrane bound vesicles for export from the cell |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum | Transports material |
| Ribosomes | Build protein for the cell |
| Mitochondria | Powerhouse, Produces energy |
| Nucleus | Controls the functions of the cell |
| Cytoplasm | Jelly-like material that fills space and protects the organelles |
