What are cardinal directions? north,east,south,west

What are the five themes of geography? location,place,human enviroment interaction,movement,and region
Define a formal region certain charcteristics are found throughout the area.states,countries,cities are all political regions since all people are subject to same laws and ruled by same government. also language,religion,culture,or a common physical property.
Define functional region consist of a central place and the surrounding places affected by it.they are often linked by transportation systems,or such activities as manufacturing and retail trading.
Define perceptual region defined by peoples feeling about an area.
