transcontinental rail road railroad that spans the whole continent to connect the Atlantic and Pacific coasts
Union Pacific Company worked on the transcontinental railroad from Omaha, NE to the west.
Central Pacific Company worked on the transcontinental railroad from Sacramento, CA to the east
Promontory Point, Utah Territory The place where the two companies met to connect the transcontinental railroad.

Sodbuster Homesteaders who lived in a sod house.
Oklahoma Land Rush The event that took place on April 22, 1889. Thousands of people rush into Indian Territory for free land.
