QuestionAnswer
What are some effective goals to establish on a group project? member needs to talk about rules about discussion, no put downs etc.. Divide up the work load and set a timetable for members to report back. Assign roles if needed.
What does it mean to be an Active Listener and provide Feedback? Active listening means you are not thinking about what to say next while others talk. It helps if you take notes on what the person said. Feed back means you comment constructively about what persons say. Then suggest your idea.
What does a group leader do? There should always be a group leader, whose job is to make sure each member speaks without being interrupted and makes sure others are listening. The leader then summarizes what that person said. The job should rotate among all members.
How do you maintain enthusiasm in your group? Make sure you give a sincere compliment to each member's contribution. This makes each person feel valued and appreciated
How do you manage conflict in your group? Set up ways to resolve conflicts as soon as your group meets and before conflicts start. You need open and fair ways to resolve conflicts. If 2 people want to do the same job/ flip a coin. To decide how to present your product/ vote.
After the project is completed, how should the group de-brief? Members need self reflect on how they as a person did and how the group functioned. A set of questions can be passed to members. It could be a check list, written response and or open discussion. Suggestion for future improvements should be made.
