Organize historical information in text or graphic form and then analyze it.

| There are several ways to organize info. What is Chronological? | Putting events in the order they happened. You could use a timeline, list in order, or outline of events. |
| How does one organize info by Cause and Effect? | You start with long term effects and then use short term effects which triggered the long term effect. This is easily used in an outline or most often it is written in text. |
| How do you organize by Thematic Approach? | You can divide history, events by topics or themes, headings.You then find information that explains each theme. Chapters in a book, research cards and outline format are ways to do this. |
| What are Historical Narratives? | Is telling the events from the past like a story. Your opinion is not in this story. You try to be as accurate as possible. You use primary sources as much as you can to be truthful to the events. |
| What are Position papers? | It is the writer's point of view or opinion on events in the past based on their research. |
| What are the steps to presenting your position on events in history? | 1= Thesis statement. Tell the reader clearly your point of view you want to defend. 2= Support your position with facts from your research. 3= conclusion should match step #1 and 4= bibliography which sows where you got your info from. |
