How does FEC regulate money from Political Action Committee (PAC)? Requires them to file reports disclosing the money they raise and spent this is called a disclosure form.
What is the most powerful labor interest group? Which political party do they tend to support? AFL-CIO ,They support the democrats. AFL-CIO stands for American federation of Labor and congress of industrial organizations.
What tactics do interest groups use? Exert pressure on political figures, influence their opinions $, They also use lobbying which is education, raising money and rally's and protest.
What services do interest groups provide to Congressmen They help bridge gap between citizens and government. They help promote interest groups self interest. They contribute to political campaigns.
Interest groups: NOW National organization for Women- Give women equal opportunities. They also give them full quality education.
ACLU American Civil Liberties Union- Works to defend the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Untied States.
PETA People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals- Protects Animal rights and Stops animal abuse.
NRA National Rifle Association- Protects the second Amendment
NAACP National Association for the Advancement of Colored People- Ensure the political, Education, Social, and economic equality or right of all persons.
ABA (LAWYERS)-American bar associations- Works to improve the administration of justice and promote programs that assist lawyers and judges. Called the bar association because they take a test call the Bar exam
GreenPeace Green Peace- Protects the environment promotes peace
AMA American Medical Association- Publishes research to advance public health and advocates for the interests or registered physicians.
What law did McCain- Feingold limit? They limited campaign contributions, prohibits certain types of broadcast, outlaws the solicitation of contributions
Impact of Citizen's United States vs Federal Election Commission? This got ride of the ban on campaign commercials.
