The battles and effects of the American Revolutionary War

What happened after the Intolerable Acts were passed and the Colonists held their 1st Continental Congress? There was fighting at the town of Lexington and Concord. These battles started the Rev War.There was "THE SHOT THAT WAS HEARD AROUND THE WORLD".
The colonist met after the battle of Lexington called the second Continental Congress. What happened during this Congress? 1= sent petition to King(Olive Branch petition). King rejected it. 2= hired George .Washington to built a Continental Army to fight
What were people called in Colonies who stayed Loyal to the British parliament? Tories or Loyalists
What were people called in Colonies who wanted independence from the British parliament? Before they were called Sons and Daughters of Liberty. Now they are called Patriots.
What were people called who didn't want to join either side? Neutralists
What were the advantages the Patriots had over the British army in fighting the Revolutionary War? 1= knew the lay of the land. 2= they were willing to fight for a cause. 3= didn't have to pay to send soldiers over sea
What were the advantages the British had over the Continental (patriot) army in fighting the Revolutionary War? 1= better technology (guns, cannons) 2= better trained soldiers 3= More available money to spend on resources.
What was the turning point of the War and why? The Battle of Saratoga. It proved the Americans could win the war so France and Spain started to offer military help (money, ships and soldiers)
Because Britain couldn't win in the New England or Middle colonies, why did the British moves south with the war? What battled ended the war? The southern colonies had a large population of loyalists. England felt this would help. It didn't. The Battle of Yorktown is where England surrendered.
