How a bill becomes a law (the steps)
| Question | Answer |

| 1. | The bill is introduced in the House and assigned a number and title |
| 2. | The bill is sent to committee for study, then collects information and holds hearings for approval. If approved, it will be sent to full House |
| 3. | The bill is read and debated on the house floor. The approved is sent to the Senate |
| 4. | Conference committee resolves differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill. The revised bill is sent back to both House. |
| 5. | The final approved bill is sent to the Present |
| 6. | The president can veto the bill |
| 7. | Congress can override a veto by two thirds vote in both houses |
