Different types on Colonies in America and the fight for Control of America

QuestionAnswer
What are the three main reason for European Colonization? Spread the Christian religion, get more land for Countries in Europe, Get more wealth by taking natural resources in the new land.
What were Spanish colonies like? mainly wanted the gold found and to use the natives as slave labor. Colonies were directly controlled by the King. they really didn't want many Spanish people to move here.
What were the French colonies like The french claimed what today we call Canada and the center part of the USA called NEW FRANCE. They came to trade with the natives for fur. Very few French settled in America,
What were English Colonies Like? Came for three reasons. Puritans/Pilgrims = religious freedom. 2=To settle land and farm because it was crowded in England. 3=For economic opportunity. This means get natural resources to sell in Europe like furs, wood.
What are Indentured Servants? People who sold themselves to work for 7-14 as a servant to any one who would buy their boat ticket to America. They were usually poor people who wanted to get out of Europe
What was the French and Indian War? War between England and France as to who would control Canada and the land east of the Mississippi River. England won. Many Colonist help fight with England/Britain.
