| Why was Hitler so adamant about absorbing Austria and Czech into the Third Reich? | He knew it would help Germany gain power, even though his advisors warned it could lead to war. |
| What were Austria's thoughts on being annexed? | They were happy, most of them were Germans anyway. |
| How did Hitler defend his troops moving into Czech? | He said that the Czechs were killing German speaking check in Sudetenland, the western part of Czech where people spoke German |
| Who turned Czech over to Hitler? | French Premier Daladier, and Neville Chamberlain the Prime Minister of Britain. They only did it to prevent war. |
| What did Winston Churchill believe about Chamberlains decision to sign the Munich Agreement? | He thought it was appeasement, or giving up rights principles or values to pacify an aggressor. |
| What was to be Polands fate? | Stalin and Hitler signed a non-aggression pact so Poland was not to become a war front (France vs. Germany vs. Soviet Union) They also signed a secret pact saying they woud split Poland in half with one another. |
| What is blitzkrieg? | Lightning war, it was Germany's policy of surprising the enemy with fast, strong artillery, and quickly running the enemy down. |
| What was the kicker that started the war? | Germany invaded Poland, so it wasnt Poland anymore. They took it over before France and Britain could stop them, but France and Britain were still angry. |
| What happened during the sitzkrieg? | France/Britain sat staring at Germany and Germany stared back. Stalin busied himself with taking over Latvia, Lithuania and Finland. Then Hitler suddenly took over Denmark and Norway to "protect" them from the Soviet Union |
| The German offense easily burned through French and British forces and took over France. How did France and Britain keep soldiers alive? | They transported them across the English Channel where Charles DeGaulle set up a government in exile, claiming France had lost a battle not the war. |
| What did Germany start doing to Britain? | Bombing them with planes, however the Royal Air Force maintained the upper hand over the LuftWaffe. The two sides kept fighting and fighting. |
