QuestionAnswer
Rationalism A belief in reason and logic as the primary paths to knowledge
Geocentric Theory A theory that Earth is the center of the solar system or the universe.
Orbit The curved path of a celestial object or spacecraft around a star, planet, or moon, especially a periodic elliptical revolution
Heliocentric Theory A theory that places the sun at the center of the solar system with the planets, including Earth, revolving around it. Helio is Greek for "sun."
Copernican Theory The theory that the sun is the center of the solar system, with the planets (including the earth) orbiting around it
Projectile A missile designed to be fired from a rocket or gun
Mass A measure of the amount of matter in an object
Hypothesis An idea or assumption to be tested in an experiment
Data Facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis
Microscope An instrument used to make very small objects visible
Barometer Measures changes in the pressure of the atmosphere
Thermometer An instrument for measuring and indicating temperature
