| Wadi | A dry riverbed that fills with water when rare rains fall in a desert. |
| Semiarid | Having lower temperatures and cooler nights than hot, dry deserts. |

| Polytheism | The belief in more than one god. |
| Millennium | A period of a thousand years. |
| Monotheism | The belief in one god. |
| Covenant | An agreement with God. |
