| Wudi | Chinese emperor from 140-86 B.C. he brought the Han dynasty to its peak, expanded the Chinese empire, and made Confucianism the state religion. |
| silk | A valuable cloth originally only made in China from threads spun by caterpillars called silkworms. |
| Sima Qian | Chinese scholar, astronomer, and historian who wrote the most important history of ancient China. |
| Silk Road | An ancient trade route between China and Europe used to transport goods. |
