QuestionAnswer
What is a conquistador? The Spanish word for the soldiers who conquered the Americas.
What is a rancho? Large farms where animals such as sheep or cattle are raised.
What is a vaquaro? A Spanish word for "cowboy" used to describe workers on cattle ranches.
What is a cattle drive? A journey in which cowboys heeded cattle north to railroad depots in the late 1800s.
What is barbed wire? Wire with sharp points that is used to fence off areas of land.
What is the Chisholm Trail? A cattle drive route
What is industry? All the businesses that make one kind of good or provide one kind of service.
What is high technology? The use of advanced scientific ideas and special tools to meet people's needs.
What is an astronomer? A scientist who studies other planets and the stars.
What is NFTA? North American Free Trade Agreement, which has made trade easier between the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
