What techniques did the Incas use to farm? They used terrace farming.
How did the Incas get water to the crops/plants in the terraces? They used irrigation systems.
Why were terraces needed to farm in Andes? They were needed to expand farming on hillsides.
What was the Inca empire like at its height? It was prosperous, stable, and peaceful.
How was Inca society divided? It was divided into two ranks; nobles and commoners.
Why were religious rituals important to the Incas? They believed it brought good harvests and they believed they could win the gods' favor.
What happened in the year 1438? Pachacuti became the ruler of the Incas.
What happened in the 1500's? They made a powerful empire by using excellent organization and technical skills.
What was a quipu used for? It was used to count and keep records.
Why did officials take a census? It was taken to organize it citizens.
In Inca religion, who created all living things? The God Viracocha
What did the Incas sacrifice instead of humans? Llamas
Where did the Incas get their water from with lack of precipitation? They would get water from the rivers.
How far up did the Andes mountains rise up to? They elevated 20,000 feet high.
