| Civilization | A society with cities, a government, workers who specialize, and a distinct form of art. |
| State of Nature | The condition of a group of people when there is no government or structure. |
| Human Resources | The people who work to produce goods and services. |
| Theocracy | A government that recognizes a god as the ultimate authority and religion is used to settle issues and make decisions. |
| Negative Relationship | As one thing increases the other decreases. |
| Megalopolis | A very large, heavily populated city or urban complex. |
| Command Economy | When the government decides how scarcity and resources will be handled by choosing what should be made, how it should be made, and who should get the product or service. |
