Articles of Confederation

Northwest Land Ordinance Laws concerning the western lands of the United States
Second Continental Congress The first official government of the United States
National or Federal Government The level of government under the Articles of Confederation that had LITTLE power
Executive The branch of government that the President is a part of
Second Continental Congress This was our temporary government during the American Revolution
Republic This is a type of government where citizens rule through elected officials
State This level of government under the Articles of Confederation held the MOST power
Shay's Rebellion This event showed the danger of having a weak government under the Articles of Confederation that could not offer protection
Judicial The branch of government that interprets the laws (makes sure it goes with the Constitution)
