Developmental progression of manipulation skills

QuestionAnswer
12-15 months Finger to Palm Translation (picking up coins)
2-21/2 years Palm to Finger (placing coins in a slot) & Simple Rotation (up to 90 degrees such as unscrewing a small bottle cap)
3-31/2 years SHIFT (LINEAR)- across finger pads ie: page turning/separating two pieces of paper
6-7 years Complex Rotation (turning a pencil over to erase) In Hand Manipulation with Stabilization (picking up pennies with thumb and forefinger and storing them in the ulnar side of the same hand)
