5000 BCE | Egyptians farmed sheep and cattle. Some grew wheat and barley on the fertile land on the Nile valley. |
4500 BCE | Sails were used on Egyptian ships for the first time, which were the main form of transportation in ancient Egypt. |
3500 BCE | First wall paintings using hieroglyphic symbols. |
3000 BCE | Astronomy was used to create the first official 365 day calendar. |
2500 BCE | Old kingdom of ancient Egypt rules (country is strong and traded with surrounding areas). |
2000 BCE | Middle kingdom of ancient Egypt rules (governors began to challenge the pharaohs, unity crumbles, and foreign invaders came in) |
1500 BCE | New kingdom of ancient Egypt rules (Thutmose III was a child ruler so his mother Hatshepsut ruled in his place and then refused to give up power when he became of age) |
2600 BCE | Papyrus is created and used in Egypt as paper. |
2250 BCE | Egyptians introduce gods for all areas of their lives. |
