China Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Urbanization The process of a place growing and becoming a city.
Neolithic Revolution The time in history when people began to change from hunters and gathers to producers of food.
Cultural Region Is an area where people share common cultural characteristics, such as beliefs, foods, language, ways of dress, and style of homes.
Topographical Map A map that shows the height of the land.
Diffusion The spread of new ideas, practices, and products from one place to another.
Cartography The making of maps.
State of Nature The condition of a group of people when there is no government or structure.
Capital resources Tools, machines, and factories used to make goods.
Government The structure that makes decisions for a group of people.
Political Map A map that shows man made political boundaries.
Traditional Economy Oldest type of economy where people simply do whatever their ancestors did for a living.
Command Economy When the government decides how scarcity and resources will be handled by choosing what should be made, how it should be made, and who should get the product or service.
