Which groups of immigrants experienced discrimination and cultural conflicts? Irish and Chinese.
What gained power in many cities and often depended on the votes of immigrants? "Political Machines"
How did "Political Machines" gain power? Voting fraud, bribery, political corruption.
How did "Political Machines" try to solve immigration and urbanization issues? They tried to help immigrants find jobs, housing, etc. They expected the immigrants' votes in return.
