QuestionAnswer
Who was James Monroe, where was he from, and what did he promise his country? He was from Virginia, he promised the country a new sense of national unity.
What was the time frame called where everybody felt a sense of nationalism fallowing the War 1812, the nation exprienced a lack of political rivalries for the first time, and people applauded the president wherever he went? Era of Good Feelings.
Who represented the SOUTH in Congress, and what did he believe? Daniel Webdter, he believed that refusing told vote for taxes to pay for the war was effort.
Who represented the west, what he he belive? Henry Clay he believed for more active role for the centrual government.
Who represented the SOUTH, what did he believe? John Calhoun, he believed that many southerns thought he generally opposed polices that would strengthen the power of the federal government
Cite two ecomnomic problems that our nation faced the fallowing the War of 1812 and how. The lack of the national bank, the money had ran out,builing a new bank, people needed money, and wanted a second bank.
What is dumping, and how did our govenment stop it? the practice of selling goods in another country at every low prices today. through dumping, British manufaturers hoped to put American rivals out of buissness.
Protective Tariffs not only hurt forigen competitors, they hurt poeople from part of our country. Who did they hurt? They hurt southerners, they had to build new factories, they brought British goods and the new tariff drove up the price of british-made goods
What is Sectionalism, and do you think it is healthy for our country? is loylaty to one's state or section rather than to the nation as a whole. No i don't think it is healthy.
Describe what Henry Clay believed would hep our counrty in his American System. Henry Clay believed in high tariffs imports, which woild help northeren factories.
In what two ways did the Supreme Courthelp strenghten our federal government? Under Chief Justice, John Marshall, the Supreme Court streghthen the power of the federal government to promote economic growth. After Congress charted te second Bank of the United States, Maryland tried to tax the bank in orferf to drive out the state.
What is interstate commerce? trade between different states,
