Expedition A journey made for a special purpose.
Colony A settlement far away from the country that rules it.
Colombian Exchange The movement of people, plants, animals, and germs in either direction across the Atlantic Ocean fallowing the vogues of Columbus.
Empire An area in which different groups of people are controlled by one ruler or government.
Conquistador A Spanish word for conquer.
Frontier The name given by colonists to the far end a country where people are just beginning to settle.
Missionary A person who talks about his or her religious beliefs to those who have different religious beliefs.
