What does REVOLUTION mean.. A sudden or complete change
Before the industrial revolution took place, what do most people do to survive? All the people were farmers
Where did the industrial revolution begin? Britain(1700's)
List three inventions that quickened the textile or cloth industry. Lume,water fring, and spinning jenny
What is the factory system? the method of producing goods that brought workers and machinery together in one place.
Who was credited in bringing the Industrial Revolution to America and how did he "pull it off" when Britain had such strict laws? Samel Slater knew the law could not be enforced some boarded a ship to America.
Why did the factory and mill owners hire women and children? Because the men where working in the farms.
Describe the conditions that workers faced in the factories and mills. They had small wages, long hours, and worked long hours all round. They also smoked and wer e in healing too much fumes.
How does Eli Whitney's invention of interchangeable parts work? the invention would speed up goods made by having machines manufacture each part.
What is urbanization? movement of population from farms to cities.
List at least 3 disadvantages of growing in these cities. Everyone was throwing trash on the ground, fires stated very quickly, no sewers, diseases spreaded rapidly.
List at Least 3 advantages if these cities. money and attraftions
