| Judaism | Belief in one God. Holiday would include Rosh Hashanah. The Holy Book is called Torah |
| Hinduism | a religion of India that emphasizes freedom from the material world through purification of desires and elimination of personal identity. A belief in reincarnation. |
| Christianity | Belief in one God. Holiday would include Christmas and Easter. The Holy Book is called The Bible. This religion mentions disciples, who are followers of Christ. |
| Muslim | a person who is a follower of Islam |

| Iron Curtain | an imaginary wall which separated East and West Europe ideologies |
| Cold War | a conflict or dispute between two groups that does not involve actual fighting |
| Magna Carta | first document imposed upon a King of England by a group of his subjects in an attempt to limit his powers by law and protect their rights |
| Enlightenment | to give knowledge or understanding to; get rid of ignorance or false beliefs |
| GDP | the total value of the goods and services produced by the people of a nation during the year |
| Literacy rate | number of people who cannot read or write |
| life expectancy | the average number of years that a person can expect to live |

| Parliament | English form of government who are responsible for making the laws |
