Obligations/ Responsibilities and How to Become a Citizen

Responsibilities Things that you chose to do
Obligation/Duty Things that you are required to do.
Law of Blood If someone has their mom or dad born in the United States
Naturalization process A person that is 18, lived in America for 5 years, speaks english, and took the civics exam
Citizenship By Birth A citizen that was either born in or on us territory(Law of Soil) or is a citizen because one parent is born in the U.S. (Law of Blood)
14th Amendment The amendment that defines a citizen as anyone that is born or naturalized in the U.S.
