Industrialization through Progressivism

What is a robber baron? Term applied to wealthy, corrupt industrialist in 19th century America.
Why was there a need for labor unions? To protect workers rights.
Who was Jim Crow? A struggling white actor in New York who dressed up as a black man during comedy skits. Made fun of blacks by stereotyping them to be grinning stupid fools.
What are legislative reforms? The process of examining existing laws, and making changes in a legal system, usually with the purpose of enhancing justice or efficiency.
What was a progressive belief? The basic system of capitalism and democracy was a good one. Progressives were out to fix the system, not to destroy it.
What are Jim Crow Laws? A series of unlawful anti-black laws.
